You’re coding along on that new ASP.NET Core app, finish some awesome new feature, and attempt to publish it out to your web server… and then:
Er… yeah, I’ve already published to that site like 73 times??? What the hell, VS???
- “Clean” + “Build”
- Restarting Visual Studio (though it’s taking care of that on it’s own, for your convenience)
- Cursing loudly
- Searching StackOverflow
- Deleting the .suo file
- Recreating the publish profile
- Restarting the damn PC
- Cursing loudly some more
- Searching StackOverflow again
And then you notice that your appsettings.json file, which you just updated with some logging settings, has a teensy copy+paste flaw in it…
Nahhh… VS wouldn’t flat out CRASH if I tried to publish the site and had a tiny syntax error in a JSON config file… would it?
